For those of you heading to Toronto next month, expect to hear a lot about Roman Polanski. We are thrilled to congratulate Marina Zenovich and team on Roman Polanski: Odd Man Out's placement in TIFF's 2012 documentary slate. Zenovich's follow up to 2008's doc Wanted and Desired achieved its funding on Slated earlier this year and includes Steven Soderbergh, Randy Wooten and Michael Roban on its list of executive producers.
Without further ado, we'd also like to highlight Slated's newest members and projects:
Welcome to Transamerica producer Sebastian Dungan as he pairs with Sundance-stamped line producer and fellow new Slated member Victor Moyers, bringing us their well stocked dramedy project AFTERNOON DELIGHT. The film will star Jane Lynch, Josh Radnor, Juno Temple and Kathryn Hahn and will be directed by Jill Soloway; Sebastian will produce with Jennifer Chaiken via their banner 72 Productions.
We'd also like to welcome journalist and producer John Lopez. John is a regular contributor to Bloomberg, Vanity Fair, LA Times and Grantland and is currently ramping up with the team alongside Studio Canal on Drive scribe Hossein Amini's directorial debut, Two Faces of January, starring Viggo Mortenson and Kirsten Dunst. Two Faces begins shooting in London next month.
Hello as well to Napoleon Dynomite producer Chris Wyatt, and hello to prolific first A.D. Tony Adler, whose credits include American Beauty, Heroes and Jonah Hex. Memento Films executive Nicholas Shumaker also joins us from his New York post.
Former managing director of BBC Films, Jane Wright is now on the site with her extensive experience in film and television distribution, sales, marketing and production. Jane was also honored with 2007's Women in Film award for her work with filmmakers. We're honored to have Jane with us, too.
And finally it's safe to say we're electrified by our newest horror project Hotel 33, brought to Slated by filmmaker Kellie Madison and acclaimed producer behind the Halloween resurgence Malek Akkad, via his Trancas International Films. This is an exciting project to have aboard. We've seen the teaser. It's scary.
Wishing you all an excellent weekend.
Cheers,
Slated Team
